Delivery attempted no access to delivery location (What it means)

You made an order and it was shipped, then after some days you saw order out for delivery.

This got you really excited as you can’t wait to receive your package or the order you made. So you decides to stay at home and wait for the the delivery personnel to deliver your package.

All through the day no you didn’t see any delivery personnel or your package being delivered, and instead what you saw on your phone is delivery attempted no access to delivery location.

Normally you will get confused trying to figure out or to understand what it means and what the postal carrier is trying to say. The explanation you will see in this article including the reason why such happened.

Now let’s proceed to the meaning.

What does delivery attempted no access to delivery location mean?

This means a delivery personnel tried to deliver a package but couldn’t because the recipient house or location cannot be accessed which may be caused by a bad weather condition, road blockage, etc.

delivery attempted no access to delivery location

There are several causes of this issue though in most cases I see as nothing more than a delivery attempted no access to delivery location lie.

In most cases it is a pure lie or a flimsy excuse as to why the delivery service couldn’t deliver your package that very day.

It can be so painful and annoying staying at home all through the day just to receive your package and no delivery service came by, then instead what you saw on your phone is delivery attempted no access to delivery location.

This is nothing but a pure lie from the delivery from the delivery services. In most cases you will find out that they never tried coming to your house.

Now the question is;

Why would they came up with such lie?

I know why and it is because of this reason.

Hidden reason for delivery attempted no access to delivery location

As it goes by the rule, a delivery personnel will not return back packages or items back to the facility or the shipper without not at least attempted to make a delivery.

A delivery personnel must scan the package delivered or attempted delivery. There’s no way a delivery personnel will return the package without scanning the package either delivered or delivery attempted because this is one of the major reasons to show work done and be paid for the services rendered.

So if your package happens to fall in the hands of a mischievous or lazy delivery personnel, you may see delivery attempted or probably delivery attempted no access to delivery location.

The delivery personnel will claim there’s no way he or she could access your house or drop off location, while in the true sense the delivery personnel got lazy or maybe tired, and decided not to deliver your package that very day.

At the end of the day, he or she will scan your item delivery attempted no access to delivery location.

This is nothing but a pure lie.

Main reason for delivery attempted no access to delivery location

Below are the reasons for having a attempted delivery no access to your location;

1. Road obstruction

Road obstruction which includes blocking of the road, road construction, etc will make a delivery personnel not to deliver a package to the recipient.

In this type of situation you have to contact the delivery service or the post office and reschedule for a delivery or probably go by yourself to pickup the package.

2. Weather condition

Excessive weather conditions may prevent a delivery personnel from delivery a pack thar is out for delivery that very day, there’s nothing he or she will do other than returning the package back to the facility or to the shipper.

3. Bad entrance to a house

If a house has a bad entrance, a delivery personnel may not want to take a risk in delivering a package, instead will opt to return the package back to the shipper.

These are some of the reasons which I know will make a postal carrier or a delivery service not to deliver a package in the case of delivery attempted no access to delivery location.

4. The mailbox is blocked

If the mailbox is blocked, a delivery personnel may choose not to deliver the package by dropping it in front the door or the porch as it deemed not safe.

Mailbox not accessible cause this type of situation of not having your package delivered to you.

Usps delivery attempted no access to delivery location

This means usps tried but couldn’t deliver a package due to some factors that restricted the delivery of the package.

Some of these factors include road blockage, road construction, bad weather condition, no entrance to the recipient house etc.

Mostly if you see delivery attempted no access to delivery location on your tracking information, I recommend you to contact usps or your delivery service and request they try again the next day.

If truly there was a road blockage or your house cannot be accessed, simply go their office or pickup location and collect your package else you will wait for eternity and have no one deliver your package.

But could not access the delivery location. We will redeliver on the next business day.

In type of situation you don’t have much to complain since they stated that they will redeliver the item the next business day.

usps delivery attempted no access to delivery location

However, when you see this sentence “but could not access the delivery location. we will redeliver on the next business day” on your tracking information, you should know that the delivery service never tried to deliver your package or couldn’t have access to your location or your house.

Instead the opted to have it delivered the next day and come up with a lie or flimsy excuse of delivery attempted no access to delivery location.

  1. This is totally true!

Laziness by the carrier or scanner.

I’ve had this happen to me twice. Both times are started a missing mail request. One was Express Priority. I spoke to the carrier yesterday and she said she would check the Express rack where Express mail goes and today she found it and delivered it to my door!

  2. Thank-you for the explanation. You are right. I just had this happen and accessed the detailed tracking information. Their statement was a flat out lie, just as you said.
